Sally Squirrel is a red squirrel who lives in Ireland. When she was born, she was very tiny, about the size of a pinky finger,and had no fur or teeth. Her family eats seeds, acorns, berries, mushrooms and tree sap. In the fall, they store food on the ground to have during winter. Although they don’t sleep through the entire winter, they spend a lot of time in their homes when it’s cold. Sally has a very fluffy tail, and her fur changes color with the seasons: it’s red and brown in the summer, and dark brown and gray in the winter.
